Since the spectrum of  Mr. Pert's music covers many genres, this web-site uses colours to distinguish between them.

A word of explanation concerning the different genres of my work maybe helpful here.
It is an unfortunate necessity in the music business, that in order to facilitate the dissemination and distribution of music to the general public, it has to be categorized and pigeon-holed. This, of course, has a basis in reality - a symphony and a pop song have totally different artistic and expressive functions and goals. This is fine, as music has the wonderful ability to reflect all human behaviour, every human emotion, at all levels. Problems arise however, in this stage of musics' evolution, when composers dip in and out of  different genres (as they are perfectly entitled to) within the same musical work. These composers are really explorers (I include myself here) whose results are sometimes surprisingly successful, sometimes embarrassingly not. Every Art-form needs its explorers, otherwise that Art-form will become dull, predictable, formula-driven (in music what we call "easy-listening").
A great deal of my music is "hard-listening", for which I make no excuse. I can however help the listener by giving an approximate guide (by colour coding) to the genre of each piece of work.

Yello titles - This category covers contemporary classical music -
solos, duets, chamber music, with or wothout electronics.

Blue titles - This category covers electronics, instrumentals, sampling etc.
in an atmospheric, sometimes trancelike way - musical sound-scapes in fact.

Red titles - This covers all Jazz, Jazz/Rock and similar trance-like
music, and includes music by my group 'Suntreader'.

Black (white on the web site) titles - this is pure experimental electronics - the "hard - listening"!

None of the categories are mutually exclusive, so dip into these MP3s !
