Elektron Musik NNW 004
This CD features two extended electronic works written and recorded in the mid
1980's. "Ionosphere", which uses radio wave sound sources and solar
static, is an attempt to evoke the sound activity which takes place in this
region of the earth upper atmosphere. This area reflects radio waves back to
the surface of the earth as well as protecting it from harmful extra-terrestrial
radiation.
"Magnificat NGC 6853" is a sound picture of the extremely beautiful
"Dumb - Bell" nebula in the constellation of Vulfecula (The Fox).
The piece starts extremely quietly, rises to a hyper-active central climax and
very gradually dissolves into the far distance.
"Aurora" and "Arc" are much shorter pieces written this
summer (2001) whose titles are self-explanatory.
